Jennifer McCabe
Chicago Chapter Administrator and Artist
Jennifer McCabe
has more than 25 years of solo and collaborative performance experience. She is
active in the music theater, choral and operatic communities some of which
include Northwestern University, Opera on Tap, the Musical Offering, and Big
Shots Piano Bar. Her work with artists from all walks of life has deepened her
understanding of the creative process and improved her as a musician. She has
most recently worked as a Music Director with the Music Institute of Chicago,
Actors Training Center in Wilmette, and the Mayer Kaplan JCC Young Actor’s
Ensemble. She is currently the choral accompanist at Lincoln Hall Middle School
and Lincoln Park High School, Eurhythmy pianist at the Chicago Waldorf School,
and a private piano teacher. She believes in equal access to the arts and
frequently volunteers her gifts to underserved students. She is humbled to
learn from her students through more than 12 years of teaching and is an
adjudicator with the Chicago Public Schools at the annual Citywide Piano
Contest. She holds her BA in Piano from Northern Illinois University and
pursued graduate studies in Music Education and Performance at NIU and MTSU.
Piano studies with Dr. William Koehler, Mr. Donald Walker and Ms. Charlene
Harb. Composition studies with Mr. Mike O’Mara, voice studies with Ms. Diane
Schoff and Marley Dzis. (Guitar studies commencing soon.) She currently holds
the post of Treasurer for OOT Chicago.
